What Is Only Sunshine?

Only Sunshine is a $68, 30 ml fragrance launched by Nogueira—a social media star-turned-entrepreneur who won over TikTok thanks to brutally honest confessions, jaw-dropping makeup looks, insane luxury hauls, and catchy video hooks. Given her overall beauty influence, it makes sense a fragrance would be in the pipeline. 

According to a press release from the brand, Only Sunshine is described as “tropical mango and papaya layered with orange blossom, warm amber, soft musks, and a signature sea breeze accord. Only Sunshine delivers a sun-soaked, fruit-drenched scent that captures the feeling of a sweet summer romance—the golden hour you never want to end.”

My Honest Review of Only Sunshine

When it comes to beauty, I’m deeply invested in the fragrance category. I’d need more than 10 hands to count how many perfumes I own. And that’s not even including body sprays, scented lotions, you name it. That said, I’m quite particular about what I wear. It’s rare that I’m immediately drawn to something fresh out of the bottle. And even then, often after one wear, I’m over it. So my feelings about Nogueira’s scent weren’t an immediate sure thing, but it had nothing to do with her. I’m just skeptical overall. 

My initial reaction to the perfume delivery was the packaging. The sleek glass bottle and magnetic plastic cap arrived in a colorful, eye-catching ombre box that resembled a tarot card deck. The colors of the box are uplifting and resemble the bottle. Upon first snif (get it?), I could immediately spot the fruity notes paired with orange blossom. I’m not a fan of anything too fruity or too citrusy, and thankfully, each note was balanced with the warm amber and soft musks mentioned above.

And to an even greater surprise, the scent applied to my skin just the way I like it. It was clean and effortless—a mere background noise if you will. I was initially wearing my PARFUMS DE MARLY Delina perfume, and Only Sunshine paired perfectly. It didn’t overtake the aroma, but rather elevated it. After wearing it for a full day, I can truly appreciate that I wasn’t itching to shower or scrub it off. It felt light and pleasant, and embraced the energy you’d expect at first glance.

Why Would Someone Wear This?

With so many fragrances on the market, it’s important that each has its own purpose or identity. I’m headed to Miami in a week, and my immediate thought was, what a perfect scent. From the sunny skies, to effortless vibes, this perfume immediately takes me to the sandy beaches with my shades, no cares in the world. I’m always seeking a signature scent to complement my travels, and this seems absolutely perfect for a spring or summer escape. The bottle is also compact and easily transportable. It’s also non-toxic, vegan, cruelty-free, and free of parabens, preservatives, phthalates, and synthetic dyes.

Final Thoughts

While Only Sunshine probably wouldn’t be my pick for a power meeting, it’s perfect for a whimsy day of sunny play. It feels low effort and easy to wear. It’s the kind of scent you can grab quickly on your way out the door and spritz on for extra character. It’s just the right amount of playful and flirty infused with an elevated sophistication to create a captivating scent for all ages. And if the $68 price tag feels steep, a smaller 10ml bottle exists for $26.
