I Tried the New BAREMINERALS Complexion Rescue Liquid Blonzer—It’s a Sun-Kissed Glow in a Tube

Rummage through my makeup drawer and you’ll discover one genre of product that far outnumbers all the rest: blush. I have quite the assortment, ranging from liquid to cream to powder, but my go-to is definitely a liquid formula. I gravitate towards something that is fool-proof to apply, glowy, and looks natural. Like I was in the sun all day or spent the afternoon frolicking in a field of flowers. You know the vibe.

I don’t wear a ton of makeup day-to-day, and if I do it’s usually a touch of concealer, a healthy dose of blush, and some bronzer to top it off. Oh, and maybe a squeeze from my trusty eyelash curler. So, when I had the chance to try the BAREMINERALS Complexion Rescue Liquid Blonzer, a blush and bronzer combo that could potentially combine two steps of my makeup routine, I was sold. I actually already own the BAREMINERALS Gen Nude® Blonzer which is like a powder blush and bronzer combo. It’s one of my absolute faves so I was ready to find out if I would love the cream version just as much.

My First Impressions

As I squeezed it out of the tube, I noticed the gel-cream formula was a bit thicker than the liquid blushes I’m used to. After applying my skincare (and SPF!), I applied a dot to each cheek and started off by blending it in with my fingers (per the brand’s recommendation!) but I grabbed my blush brush to finish the job. While I may have applied too much (oops), it was incredibly easy to diffuse the color by tapping and blending it across my cheeks, nose, temples, and even into my forehead and chin. It felt creamy and hydrating and proved to be buildable as I layered a bit more on top. Right away, I fell in love with the color. The kiss of mauve shade is a perfect blend of bronzer, highlighter, and blush that looks great on all skin tones and leaves a luminous finish.

The Wear Test

So, it looks gorgeous on, but does it last? As the day went on, I stole glances in the mirror to check for fading, dryness, or oil, and each time I was pleasantly surprised to see the opposite. The formula is meant to blur the look of skin imperfections and I definitely felt like my skin had a slight filter on it, and my cheeks had a gorgeous rosy glow without being too sparkly.

Final Thoughts

While this product is right up my alley, I can see it being too sheer or subtle for someone who likes their blush to be more of a statement. However, that’s exactly what gives it my stamp of approval. It’s the ultimate blush and bronzer hybrid that gives the skin such a pretty and natural flush of dewy color. I also love that it is a two-in-one product so it saves me some time. And, lastly I appreciate that it’s talc-free, dermatologist-tested, and free of synthetic fragrance. Another one for the blush collection!
